Faculty of Pharmacy - Research domains
At the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Debrecen, research covers the entire spectrum of drug development: from molecular design and the exploration of natural active ingredients to the understanding of cellular and molecular mechanisms, the development of state-of-the-art drug forms and targeted therapies, to the study of clinical application, drug safety and real-life results.

Our common goal
To create scientific results that simultaneously deepen the understanding of diseases and drug effects, support the development of new therapeutic strategies and improve the quality of drug supply.
Operation of Research domains
The Faculty’s research domains do not always coincide with departmental or institute boundaries. Research fields are made into a functioning research community by common scientific questions, a shared methodological background, regular collaborations, and joint mentoring of students and young researchers.
There are complementary forms of implementation at the Faculty. There are larger research fields working with broad internal cooperation; areas that are strongly linked to external basic research, clinical or technological partners; and focused clinical research fields. These forms cover different fields of science, require different infrastructures, patient materials, methodological backgrounds and partnership models.
The transition between the above domains is a great strength of Faculty's research. Collaborations in pharmaceutical technology, nanopharmacy and cardioprotection connect formulation with biological impact assessments; molecular oncology, genome biology and cell therapy, bringing mechanistic exploration closer to diagnostic and therapeutic applications.
