Education - Department of Pharmaceutical Surveillance and Economics

Education and Academic Activities

Although the Department is considered a smaller unit in terms of staff size, it carries out an extensive range of educational responsibilities across both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including teaching one of the three core topics of the final board examination.

Undergraduate Training (Table 1)

  • Pharmacy Program: We deliver comprehensive courses in both Hungarian and English Program.

  • Master’s Program: Starting from the 2025/26 academic year, our department highly participates in the Pharmaceutical Development Research and Management MSc program, teaching key compulsory subjects in both languages.

  • Interfaculty Education: The Department provides specialized pharmaceutical regulation courses for students at the Faculty of Law and Political Sciences.

  • External Support: Our curriculum is regularly enriched by the expertise of external guest lecturers.

Talent Management and Student Support

We are deeply committed to nurturing the next generation of researchers through:

  • Active participation in the Scientific Students' Associations (TDK) and the university’s talent development programs.

  • Supervising undergraduate theses and actively serving on thesis defence and evaluation committees.

Postgraduate Professional / Specialist Training

The Department plays a vital role in the professional training of pharmacists and residents, providing:

  • 72 hours of core training for residents.

  • 112 hours of hospital-clinical specialist pharmacist training.

  • 26 hours of pharmacy operation and management professional training.

Our staff members serve on national examination boards, act as consultants for numerous specialist pharmacist candidates annually, and are regular speakers at professional continuing education courses.

Doctoral (PhD) Education

All three of our senior faculty members are accredited thesis supervisors within the Doctoral School. They regularly contribute to doctoral procedures as reviewers, examiners, and committee chairs. To date, one PhD student has successfully graduated from the Department, and two PhD candidates are currently conducting their doctoral research here.
