The department focuses on the transition between academic formulation research and industrial manufacturing. Its research deals with the development of manufacturable and qualitatively controllable pharmaceutical forms, the identification of critical manufacturing parameters, and the transfer of laboratory procedures to a larger scale. The National Manufacturing-Research-Education Center provides a technological background for the developments.
